ElMahrousa PDS project “Supporting Emerging Independent Labour Movement in Egypt” was a 17 months project supported by The Embassy of the Netherlands in Cairo.The project worked with the aim to Support workers’ groups to be collectively organized in unions and federations. The project participated in raising awareness of employers and employees of ILO conventions regarding the freedom of association and the rights to be collectively organized and the rights to collective bargaining. A series of Arabic resources on the history, successes, lessons learned and case studies extracted from the labour movement in Europe were developed and disseminated among project target groups.
